A few things to fill you in on:
Firstly, we have a few events in October that we’re looking to add to the calendar. Next Saturday, October 9, Scotsman Center is hosting a low-level jumper show. The weekend after, October 16th, is at Lynnleigh Farm for their final 2-phase of the year. I’ve attached the entry form to this email. Be sure to read the instructions carefully as Trisha is very particular about how entries are submitted.🤪
And aNNNOther addition to the calendar is going to be on Saturday, October 30 for a Halloween jumper show hosted by Emily Bigler at North Utah County Equestrian Center. Do you have a costume ready for your pony 🧙♀️?? I’m looking forward to having a few more outings for the horses, particularly since these events promise to be fun, relaxed, and casual! Keep your eyes peeled for the entry form, which is to be posted on the WRE-IX page on Facebook on October 8th.
A small note about tack: for those kids who are riding at the Intro level or lower, we encourage everyone to be riding with peacock stirrups, which is a type of stirrup that carries a side elastic band that gives way if the foot gets caught. While we all “unexpectedly dismount” occasionally🤸♂️ and falling is part of our sport, we are always trying to do our best to mitigate the risk so here’s a small some thing that’s an easy-peasy fix! If you have any questions, ask one of us!
Congratulations to Lucy and the O’Doherty family on their purchase of Nahla, a 9 year old bay, Thoroughbred mare. We’re so excited for her to join our Peas family and we can’t wait to see where their adventures take them! 💜
Finally, I know you’ve all been on pins and needles thinking about where the High Star group would land for the winter🙋🏻♀️ The barn we were originally relying on in Silver Creek is no longer available – the current trainer has it firmly in her grips. Bummer. However, it looks like we’re going to start trooping over to Tally Ho Farm. Recently purchased by Arielle Smith and her family, Tally Ho is currently under new management and they’re looking forward to having us and our program- yey!🌟 I’ve been in touch with some of you about a specific move date from High Star and I’m working to get all of us over there – I appreciate your patience! And then if there are any non-High Star Peas interested in a move to Tally Ho at some point over the winter, we can be in a touch as soon as spots open up. ⛄️
